At Lee Family Dentistry in Vancouver, we always have a dentist on call for emergency dental services in Vancouver when the office is closed.

Dental emergencies include: extreme tooth pain, swelling, traumatic injury to the mouth, and excessive bleeding from the mouth.

• Toothache: A toothache with extreme pain may be a sign of an infected or abscessed tooth which may signal the need for a root canal or extraction. We will do an assessment over the phone and see if we can either help you by prescribing some medication, or give advice on how to relieve some of the symptoms.

• Sore and Swollen Gums: There are many possible causes of sore and swollen gums. It is important to receive care quickly to either treat or rule out serious issues such as severe gum disease or periodontitis as these can lead to serious problems of the gums, jaw and teeth if not treated in a timely manner. If swelling becomes large and visibly below the jaw or up towards the eye, please go to the nearest Emergency Department for immediate care.

• Traumatic Injury to Teeth: This is a common dental emergency that we see in our office. Please ensure that there are no other medical issues to attend to (eg. broken bones, etc) before addressing your dental needs. Often if there has been significant trauma to the teeth, time is of the essence. Please contact us as soon as possible so we may give you advice on what to do.

Please note that if there is major swelling (extending below your jaw or above your eye) or severe trauma, you should direct yourself immediately to the Emergency Department at your nearest hospital.

Non-emergency dental issues (but troublesome ones!) can include a crown falling out or chipped teeth. Please call us during business hours for to make an appointment.

We are located in #102-2732 West Broadway in Kitsilano, Vancouver, BC. There is free parking at the back of the building as well as some street parking (during certain hours).

We are open Monday to Saturday every week, closed on Sundays.
 

We are a family-owned and operated practice. Dr. John Lee, who has recently retired, had worked at this office since 1981 and was joined by his son, Janson, and his daughter, Anika. Read more.
